Online Playa Advertises for Freelance Writers to Do His Dating Correspondance For Him
Every time I think I have seen it all online, something comes along to make me say , “what is wrong with people?” Being a freelance writer I am on the lookout for job opportunities. I belong to writers forums and numerous job sites and writing websites. Yesterday in one of the forums a fellow forum member brought in a job posting that had been listed at one of the many writers websites to show us something he was disgusted with.
The posting was as follows: “Job Openings: managing my online dating correspondence -
this job is to handle the tedious job of corresponding and building a dialogue with potential online dates. The writer or writers will be given passwords to a number of online dating sites and will correspond with women that I have hot listed. They will then make appointments on a published web calendar. I neither have the time nor the desire to write more than I need to.”
This is just plain wrong on SO many levels. Cyrano was lovely, poignant story, but it was a story. In reality you have to pay your own dues and do due diligence to find the right person for you. You better be willing to make the efforts and spend the time to do it too. The only person who can make you look truly good or bad in someone eyes is yourself and you have to be accountable for what you do, not put it on someone else.
Online dating and matchmaking is precarious enough as it is. In fact any dating is, online or not. Sure there are many nice people looking for relationships, but sadly there are many players and users too who don’t care about the feelings of the people they are dealing with. They have their own agendas whatever those agendas may be and intentionally or not, they run roughshod over a lot of people to get what they want. Inevitably people get hurt and some quite seriously.
Here is a man who seems to think that beginning a relationship based on lies is a good idea. Wrong. So wrong. “Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.” Sir Walter Scott had it right. At some point this WILL come back to hit him smack in the face. Hopefully sooner than later so none of the women he is playing get hurt too deeply.
His obvious disrespect for women is yet another issue. How is he ever going to be in a relationship when he attempts to get into one with so little concern for feelings or individuality? Line them all up on his online calendar for him like bakery treats to pick from. Have someone else do all the work to win them over then swoop in for the prize. The only problem with that is that these are women, not inanimate objects. They aren’t trophies to put up on a shelf. They react. They have feelings. They fight back sometimes.
If time is an issue for him and he really can’t find enough time to do this corresponding himself, or he really doesn’t want to be bothered making the effort then how will he EVER find enough time to be in a viable relationship? Relationships take work and time and commitment on whatever level the relationship is at. Even if he is only looking for quick and fast and no commitment, he STILL has to make some effort to make it happen. This guy wants the results with no effort.
Never forget, and I have repeated this a million times, that living flesh and blood human beings are behind the screen names and email addresses. You can’t treat a human being with such total coldness and disregard and not expect to have some repercussions for your actions. This kind of thing is what makes it difficult for the people who are looking for an honest and real relationship, which many are. They have to wade through all the frogs and slime like this guy to get to the real person.

very true, the only way to achieve real love is to kiss a few frogs along the way and then cherish the prince. Of course the prince needs to be a prince and give up the player cards.
